This term we will begin learning the recorder. We are just waiting on a couple more students to bring their recorders in.
The only request is that cheap recorders from the $2 shop not be used as they are often not tuned correctly. Any reputable music shop will have a suitable recorder. For Example, Yamaha YRS-20B or something similar (approx $10-$15)
If you wish to purchase online you can go to Masson Music (Model: YRS20B $10.95 plus shipping)

Hi Jemma,
Try blowing a little softer and see if the squeaking still continues. If it does then it is likely that your fingers are not covering the holes correctly. Keep playing each note slowly and always check your fingers are covering each hole so there are no gaps.
Don’t forget to do the Do, Do, Do sound. You will get it right it just takes practice.

I LOVE the recorder!!!!!!!!! It’s one of the best instruments I ever played.
I can almost play Hot Cross buns.
Sometimes I use a piece of paper to mute the sound a little.
I like canon in D and Mum played the chords on the piano.
