Mr Rees, I have bought one of every type of your stick insects. My dad and I are making cages just like the ones in your classroom. I only have one question. I don’t know wheather to bury the eggs ( in the soil) like Willium says or keep them on top of the soil ( I got group three). When I open my 10 inch and C stick insects to spray them with water, I can’t see the eggs and I wanted to ask you is it ok if the eggs are buried.
Madelaine
Hi Madelaine,
Great to hear that you are making your own cages. The eggs can be buried or they can sit on top of the coco-peat, either works fine. If you want you can even leave the eggs in the small round container and leave the lid off. You will need to put the round container in the noodle box and when you need to spray you just spray the coco-peat and not the eggs. In class we use the last method the most, though most of the ones hatching now are in coco-peat.
Enjoy your Stick Insects
Mr. Rees
Mr Reece, I actully have been spraying the eggs because I didn’t know. Will they still be alright?
Madelaine
If they are too wet just leave the container open so the coco-peat can dry out a little.
