Say the word out loud
Write it down
Check the spelling after you have written it down.
Peg Spelling
Please complete pages 34 and 35 of your Peg Spelling text book. These pages help us master the words we are learning this week.
When you have completed two weeks without any mistakes then you may move up a level.

Maths Homework
Maths Mentals
Please complete page/s 34 and 35 of your Maths Mentals. These pages help us master the words we are learning this week.
Times Tables
By the end of the year you need to know at least your 2, 5, 10 times tables without looking. Those who have done this should also practice 4, 3, 6, 7, 8 and then 9 times tables. If you are very clever you can try up to 12 times
Mathletics
Each week students will be given three tasks to be completed at home. If this is not possible students will have some time in class to complete this work.
Reading
It is really important to read at home each day. You should be reading more than 15 minutes per day.
Ask mum or dad to listen to you read. Ask for help with words you are not sure about.

Hi Michelle,
This week (Week 7, Term 1) is revision of the Mathematics Units 1 to 4. Max just needs to choose 3 words at each level from the 4 units (up to his Peg level). He can then practice the chosen words for the week. It is good to choose words that he may find difficult rather than ones he already knows.
Hope this helps

Hi Mr Rees,
In our mental maths book it said to use a calculator, but the only one we have at home is reverse polish notation. It doesn’t even have an equals sign on it. I can’t do the homework with it. Do we need to buy a calculator for this year?

Hi Zoe,
No you don’t need to buy a calculator. We discussed this in class today, you can leave it if you don’t have a calculator. We will be using calculators this week in class anyway and will go over the homework then.
If you have a PC computer you can find a calculator under START - Programs - Accessories - Calculator.

Hi Mr Rees,
I’ve been wondering if we have any homework this week because my brother said we don’t have any homework.
