Look at the word
Cover it with your hand or some paper
Say the word out loud
Write it down
Check the spelling after you have written it down.
Recorder Practice
10 minutes each day. Remember to not annoy the people around you and play softly. When playing notes make sure that you pronounce the word ‘DO’ each and every time.
Peg Spelling
Please complete pages 68 and 69 of the Peg Spelling text book. These pages help us master the words we are learning this week.
Maths Homework (www.mathletics.com.au)
Maths homework is now set on the Mathletics website. Students will be set three tasks to complete each week. If students do not have time/computer at home they will be given an opportunity to complete it in school time. Any work that is 60% or lower will be set to do again.
Home Reading
It is really important to read at home each day. You should be reading more than 15 minutes per day.
Ask mum or dad to listen to you read. Ask for help with words you are not sure about.
Times Tables
Please practice the times you have been given on the back of your homework sheets. By the end of the year you need to know at least your 2, 5, 10 times tables with out looking. Those who done this should also practice 4, 3, 6, 7, 8 and then 9 times tables.
Homework is to be handed in on Friday morning.

Sorry, I should have checked my typing. It’s supposed to be morning.
Thankfully none of the students are on extension 3 yet.
Thank you for letting me know.

I am holding back on giving your son the 90 word spelling test. With all the other tests coming up it may be a bit much for him. I suggest that Jake just does levels 2-8 and see how he goes.
