Recorder

Recorder Homework

1. Try to play every day.
2. Practice for half an hour when you can.
3. Practice with no interruptions or background noise. You will concentrate better.
4. Listen to yourself, don’t just play the notes.
5. Don’t practice at 4 AM. Your parents and neighbours may not like it.
6. Play for family and friends when you have mastered a piece.

How to mute a recorder (parents)
Cut a piece of paper the same width as the window on your recorder. Folder the paper so that one quarter is folded backwards. Place the paper into the recorder window with the one quarter tucked inside.

    This is easy.

  2.   Mr. Rees Says:

That’s great Phoebe! So can you do it all without looking?

When we move on to C and D it will get a little difficult.

  3.   Elyse Says:

Hey mr rees I can do D on the recorder!I just have to rest the recorder on my knee it’s easy when you know how.

  4.   Mr. Rees Says:

That is terrific! When we perform in week nine we will be standing up so we will need to practice the thumb rock.

The thumb rock is when you rock your finger back instead of lifting it off the recorder.

  5.   Zoe Says:

this is easy but very fun

  6.   Kye Says:

  7.   Mr. Rees Says:

Yes Kye, Ode To Joy is hard. I’m sure with practice we can do it. :)

  8.   Jessica Says:

Mr Rees Ode To Joy is so so so hard and I can not get the four b’s in Mary had a litte lamb. It is very fun and I will keep on practicing for you.

  9.   Mr. Rees Says:

Yes Ode to Joy is difficult though the idea is to challenge you and not give you something that is easy. Practice, Practice, Practice and I am sure you will get it. :)

The playing is not for me Jess but rather for you. If you practice and practice and never give up then you learn a valuable lesson for later life. Practice = Success.

  10.   Zoe Says:

    Mr Rees,
Ode To Joy is kind of hard but I’m kind of getting use to it.
But… I like the song and all of the other songs!

    Zoe
